Compliance Checks
Compliance checks are performed in Washington State to keep our tobacco retailers informed and updated on Youth Access Laws. Under RCW 26.28.080 the law states that it is a gross misdemeanor in the state of Washington to sell tobacco of any form to a person under the age of eighteen. With the help of the Department of Health, Liquor Control Board, local public health partners, and retailers this comprehensive tobacco prevention and control program can help implement an effective, long-term plan that will save the lives and improve quality of life of thousands of Washington residents.
